Pear Bourbon Cooler

Given how few pear cocktails are around, we decided we needed to take matters into our own hands. By combining the spiceĀ from bourbon and Zevia Ginger Ale with the sweetness and citrus from pear juice, we may have concocted the perfect sugar free drink thanks to our friend Modest Marce. Don't take our word for it though. Pour one up yourself!

Ingredients

Ginger Sage Simple Syrup

  •  granulated stevia equivalent to 1 cup sugar 
  • 1 cup water
  •  5 sprigs of fresh sage 
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger (chopped)

 Pear Bourbon Cooler

  •  1 1/2 oz bourbon
  •  2 oz fresh pear juice 
  • 2 oz Zevia Ginger Ale
  •  1 tbsp ginger sage simple syrup 
  • 1 pear (sliced, for garnish) 
  • 1-3 sprigs fresh sage (optional, for garnish)

Directions

Ginger Sage Simple Syrup

  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine all ingredients and bring to a simmer. 
  2. Whisk until stevia is dissolved. Remove from heat and let stand for 5 minutes. 
  3. Strain and store in a glass jar until ready to use. 

Pear Bourbon Cooler 

  1. Fill desired serving glass with ice. 
  2. Combine and mix in the bourbon, pear juice, Zevia Ginger Ale, and ginger sage simple syrup. 
  3. Garnish with pear slices and a sprig of sage, if desired. Enjoy!
